I am “Muskrat Jim” and I love the outdoors! I’m a former Communications Officer for the New Brunswick Ground Search & Rescue, and Leader of a New Brunswick Cub Scout Troop.

What may not be immediately apparent, is that I am handicapped… and a recent cancer survivor.

If you visit my YouTube channel, you’ll find nearly 450 videos that I’ve posted over the past ten years. They cover topics in bushcraft, wilderness survival, primitive shelters, foraging for food, outdoor cooking, tracking animals, product reviews, trail camera videos and much, much more.

Screen Shot 2015-03-27 at 2.14.47 PMPreparation is the key to survival. Experts say you should be prepared to be self-sufficient for up to 72 hours in case of a natural disaster, or if you are forced to evacuate your home.

Be prepared with the tools, knowledge and skills to help you survive if you suddenly find yourself ‘off the grid’ especially in these uncertain times.

Survival in any situation means adapting to your surroundings and circumstances. Being a handicapped person just means that I have one more thing to factor into my adaptation… nothing more.
